Each March the Abu Dhabi Striders hold a cross country event starting from the Mafraq Hotel. This event has a social focus to celebrate the end of the running season and chill by the pool with a fantastic BBQ dinner.
Timing: 4:45pm start for the Under 12's 2km race, with 5 and 10km races starting together at approximately 5pm.
Course: Choose either a 5 or 10km length, plus a free 2km fun run for kids under 12.
Race Entry: via Premier Marathons website. ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED FOR 2013.
Registration and Bib Collection: Commence at 4pm outside the Mafraq Hotel and close by 4:40pm for race start.
Presentation: To commence at 6:30pm poolside.
How to get there: Mafraq Hotel is located off the E11 on the sourthern outskirts of Khalifa City B and 500m adjacent to the Mafraq Hospital. See the map above or click here.
Facilities: Runners are invited to stay for a BBQ dinner and use of the pool, hosted by the Mafraq Hotel. Cost is Dhs 140 for adults and Dhs 80 for kids between 8 and 16. Under 8's are free.
